First Friday night out in a looong time. Company was 5 stars! My experience at this dive bar doesn't even come close to the 2 people I was there with. People watching was 5 stars! The crowd and barstaff were more than entertaining! 1000 Ways to Die on Spike TV was also a conversation catapulter! No lie, the shotgirl was wearing these: feelfoxy.com/formed_butt… Keep those rounds comin' before we head to the next bar!!

I mean... It's O'Tooles. The name says it all. Of the Tooles. A place for Tooles. I mean, no offense, we usually end up stopping in here for a couple minutes when my friends and I are out and about but I don't quite get into this place. It's so... I dunno. Nothing special. It's almost like a cross between Buffalo Wild Wings and Hooters and the Local bar where all the high school graduates go religiously to cling to their memories of... um... high school?? So nothing here makes sense. They have shot girls like a nightclub, they have the chicks in tight t-shirts and skirts like hooters and the crowd is... How you say, unappealing. I have had some fun times in here, but there's just something about this place that makes me feel like on the Nightlife scheme of things I must give it a 2.

Ok. This is not an Irish bar. The name only fits as it is aptly named for the type of people that frequent it.... tools.

If it's a bar hopping night, I always hit up O'Tooles, except on Tool night which seems to be Thursday. Lunch Burger special is good and cheap, I would say average beer prices. I always seem to run into people here which is fun (most of the time). Great wait staff, good as it gets. Tip heartily friends.

Smokey. Crowded. Cold. Sure, not three of the best bar-factors, but the drinks are cheap and strong. I ordered a vodka cranberry and it was $3.75 but it tasted like a double. I tasted a fuzzy navel, and it was also very strong and the same price. I was satisfied with the waitstaff, very quick and very friendly.

So, I've only ever been to this Royal Oak hangout on Thursday nights for Big Mug Night where mugs the size of Super big Gulps are filled with beer for 2 bucks! Needless to say, the drunken crowd is quite interesting. In addition to disgustingly cheap beer, there's music, pool, and some video games to entertain. But I bet you won't need those, the huge inebriated crowd will be entertainment enough. Unlike a lot of the other reviews I can't really say I've had a horrible experience, then again I don't frequent this bar, it's just not my kind of bar to hangout at regularly. But as far as Big Mug Night goes, it's A-OK. The bartenders are friendly and efficient, the music, top 40 stuff was fun. All in all this local bar located just off of Washington Avenue is a good choice if you're looking for a more rowdy, college type joint.

O'Toole's is a pretty popular scene. I can do nothing more than second the other reviews. The service is terrible: slow, undependable. The music sucks and the crowd is a mix of creepy and hypersexual. I hope I never have to return.

I've been to o'toole's a handful of times and everytime the service has been awful, the worst. I've ate here twice and the food is pretty good but the service is so bad that it's not even worth the trouble to bother going. Both times I ate there it wasn't even crowded. But our waitress would disapear for unexcusably long periods of time. When it came time to leave we didn't know what to do, the waitress had never came back after bringing our food and we didn't have the bill. We asked the bartender but she didn't even know what happened to our waitress nor did she offer to help us out. We probably shoud have just walked out but that's not good restaurant karma so we waited an eternity for the waitress to return. I don't see myself stopping in ever again.

My experience was nothing like everyone else's because I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm for lunch. No one was here so that made my food quick. My waitress was new, first day on the job, so she was trying extremely hard to make sure we were satisfied. My food was great. I played some video games and just kicked back. I don't drink so I can't say my drinks sucked. What I will say is that I had an OK experience compared to everyone else. My suggestion, go for lunch.

  • Allen P.

Jesus, Nothing to say here that hasn't been said already. I guess people outside of LA write honest reviews. Like everyone said, this place pretty much sucks with horny frat dudes. The reason for the second star is that you can bring any size cup as long as it has a handle and no spout to the bar and they will fill it with Labat for $2. This is why I went. It was an experience and that was that.

I used to like O'Toole's all right, and then I came here for a quick dinner the other night with my parents ... and here's the thing. I know the drill with this place. Short skirts + cleavage + sports on TV = brings dudes in. I understand how businesses work. I'm not offended by showing some leg to bring people in. That said, this place ... after that dinner, I'll never go here again, and I will badmouth it as well. The service was AWFUL. I've honestly never had worse. The waitress took our drink order, didn't bring anything for ten minutes, was reminded by my mother, and then finally came by five minutes after that with our beers. Then we ordered, and my order is wrong (she wrote it down, btw) and the waitress forgets two of our dishes. She asks my dad if he wants another beer but never asks my mom or me. Before all that, though, the Shot B*tch has started working it, and is sitting on some dudes lap at the next table, and we notice that the guys next to us, who came in after us, have their drinks within minutes of arriving. Later, our waitress goes into avoidance mode, which really, is a great way to get a tip when you know you've messed up (my mom pointed out the missing food but said to forget it; we were in a hurry and didn't want to wait. Then the bill takes forever to come ... The shitty part is that I'd been there before, and yeah, it's way too small and the service was bad, but there are TABLE KEGS (aka giraffes), which you can't find anywhere else in Royal Oak (to my knowledge, anyway). But after that, yeah, I'm done with this place. The only redeeming part of the night was the fact that the fries are awesome. The funny thing is, my parents are probably better tippers than all these young guys. This girl really blew it, and unfortunately, she's the rule, not the exception.

O'Toole's has the best reuben around, hands down. I'm not sure about their other food, but their reuben is amazing, and I get it every time I go there. The homemade potato chips are to die for, too. They also carry Spaten, my favorite German beer, in the fall, which is another huge reason I'm a fan of this place. The service is decent, not the best but definitely not the worst, and it can get crowded on nights when there is a "big game," but I really don't have any complaints. One of these days I'll try something other than the reuben, but I love it so much I can't imagine not getting one whenever I go there.

I've been here a couple times, as it's a common lunch spot for my co-workers... Honestly it always smells like port-o-potty "air freshener" in here. Seriously. Even with the entire patio section open. Food is ok, your average pub-ish fare. I always get the southwest wrap. Would be a lot better if I didn't have that weird smell lingering in the back of my nose, though.

This place is so bad! The food is horrendous, the wait staff is disgusting. Literally vile and when she calls me baby and honey and sweetie it literally curls my stomach. The beer is cold and decently priced but outside of that, run away....run far far away

A good bar, that is a ton of fun on Thursday nights. A great place for beer towers and some good laughs.

    (3)
  • Marty F.

O'Tooles. Hahaha just the name makes me laugh. Are they trying to be the douchiest bar in royal oak? I mean, that honor goes to Wild Woodies, but this is a very close second. The servers suck, and seem they don't have an education beyond the tenth grade. The customers are worse. If you come here, I'd suggest taking a flea bath after.

Decent food could use some Specials to change it up some! Good selection of craft beers & domestics. And of course the best reason to come in...Taylor!

I've been here twice to watch a football game during the day and it's all that you could expect in a sports bar. Decent menu, cheap beers. The nighttime scene is a different story. Not a huge fan of the crowd. It is also too loud for me. Some people love it, it's just not my scene.

    (2)
  • Nick M.

Pros: Good priced drinks, hot bartenders and waitresses, a plethora of large HDTVs to watch the game, decent music, you don't get hassled by bouncers, Thursday mug nights that are cheap and fun Cons: Packed like sardines in there. It's a pain in the ass to get to the bathroom or to the bar because the set-up is insanely idiotic. They have the bar in the back middle, right next to the restroom hallway. Uh, what? I don't know how many times I've seen people bump into others and spill drinks. It's a mess. It's a place I will go to, but not for an entire night unless it's a Thursday. Just too claustrophobic.

OHHH what can I say.. Well, the day was going just fine, our waitress was a bit overwhelming, but whatever. As we continued to order drinks throughout the MSU game this past weekend we got hungry but were considering on just waiting till we got home. The waitress said "Oh we have happy hour till 7 and quickly brought us the menus" Well we thought it would be a great idea to order some food as it would be half off. As we finished and got our bills I noticed the food was not half off (easy mistake) so I just told the waitress. While I went up to her and said this, all her co-workers were like "oh its not half off on weekends" then she proceeds to tell me she has only bee here two weeks and she didn't know. Being a former waitress while in school, I understand mistakes. However, the manager should have taken care of it as he did not properly train his employees. She brought me back the bill and threw it on the table saying " the only thing my manager can do it take off the wings (they were $5) but left the nachos which were $14. I was very taken back by this and really just thought it was rude. It was not about the money ( total bill after wings were take off was $26) it was the fact that the manager didn't care. So, we did not leave a tip and the other people at our table only left $2 on a $20 bill. I then checked my bank account and the waitress put a tip on our bill of $4 which is fraudulent. I asked my friends if their tips were altered also and they said yes, she added a dollar. My husband has the second receipt and we will be calling our bank and O'Tooles. Once again, not about the money but the decency of people.

Worlds worst staff - rude & liars. I will never bring my $ to this place or waste another minute there again & I suggest you do the same.

I think it's really crappy when you specifically order a Cobb salad with NO onions and your sever says absolutely no problem. Of course you get onions on your salad and she apologizes and says "I wrote it down" then comes back 1 minute later saying she grabbed the wrong salad...but you can see half the onions are still there. So obviously A- she's a liar and B- somebody just put their hand in my food and tried to get off a couple of the onions. Crappy!

I was not blown away by O'Tooles. I went in here with a few friends on a Tuesday night. I did not have high expectations at all since it's a sports bar in downtown R.O. However, I always expect friendly staff and this bartender did not have it. She just seemed so unhappy to be there. Never smiled once, and just seemed annoyed that we sat at the bar. I ordered a whiskey ginger, but my friend ordered a jager bomb. Big surprise, she brings her one glass. Apparently they don't allow drop shots there because it's too messy and people break stuff. I understand the risks, but seriously, that's the drink. It's a drop shot. You should at least warn people that's how you serve it. The saving grace of this rule is that it does not apply to car bombs. Overall, not a place I will return to.

O'Toole's continues to be my favorite go-to bar when I'm out on the town with friends. Whether I'm meeting people for a happy hour after work, or getting wild on a weekend, I absolutely love this place. I try to steer clear of the douche-tastic likes of BlackFinn, and the crowd here is just what I'm looking for. It's so casual, and it just always has a positive vibe going on. The bartenders aren't tremendously quick or talented, but it's a bar in Royal Oak - that's pretty much par for the course. I've never eaten here but my friends say the food is spot-on. They have good burger & fry specials one day during the week and they always have a happy hour deal between certain hours. Definitely a great place to mingle with friends :)

Came here so see a show at the Royal Oak Music Theater (Ellie Goulding!!) and figured we'd get some food and drinks before she arrived. Ate elsewhere and walked into O'Toole's during trivia night. The wait staff was appalling. We ordered a round of long islands and each and every one was a different shade of orange/brown and their alcohol content varied widely. Some were quite good whereas I was left with one tasting more like the ice than the alcohol inside of it! Really - it wasn't just that it was strong enough, I questioned that there was any alcohol in it (passed it around and confirmed by 3 others). When I told the waitress that the drink had very little alcohol in it, she began to argue with me. She said she saw the bartender pour all of our drinks and they were completely even. Of course she wasn't interested in my offer of having her taste them to tell the difference but after getting my fair share of attitude she took the drink and returned it to me much stronger. I can't be sure if she spit it in or not but at least the long island was finally... a long island. You can't expect much when coming here, it's a place for "simple" people, but getting flack back from the waiter is where I draw the line. Unless all other bars are closed and drinks here are half off (not half the alcohol), I won't be coming back.

Their wings are my personal favorite in Royal Oak, and their ribs are great too. A bit on the loud side, though. Pick up a restaurant.com gift certificate for nearly half off your order.

I went to O'Toole's for the first time a few weeks ago and I have to say, the stuffed mushrooms were EXCELLENT! I LOVED the atmosphere there. Not too loud and the drinks were pretty nice as well. Service needs a little work but overall my experience was nice. I would patronize again.

  • Jeremy N.

Place isn't too exciting, only time I will go is on a Thursday for mug night because it's extremely cheap but horribly loud. Like, so loud that you can't even talk to the person next to you. If you get a seat, the music videos are pretty comical to watch. They've recently expanded to filling different beers in the mugs as well. Bud light, Labatt, Labatt light, pbr, and coors.

The bartender filled my cup up twice with all foam on mug night. Literally 2oz of beer. After the 2nd time I asked to recieve an honest glass of beer. She refused and the bouncers kicked me out. The bouncers would not try to listen when I told them what had happened and instead physically threaten me.

  • Tim G.

Really? Within 2 min I was wondering 1) how this place is in Royal Oak, 2) what's in the mystery shots (a little afraid), 3) why am I here. My wife said this place made her feel dirty, but not in the good way that I like. Gusoline Alley is a RO dive bar (I highly recommend), but this place is just a dive (s%&t hole).

I don't love this place, but I don't hate it either. However, I kind of find this place disgusting. All of the waitresses and bartenders are pretty. Of course. This is a bar. They have a shot girl who circles the whole place over & over again. They have one pool table, where this group of guys controlled all night. The tables are pretty sticky and gross. I tried really hard to not touch my table or the chairs. The food was pretty mediocre. My friends said they have better hamburgers at their workplace cafeteria. I had the fish and chips. Not sure what type of fish they used or batter, but it def was not cod. Probably, my least favorite fish & chips. The coleslaw was really gross. STAY AWAY FROM THAT. A plus for those onion rings though. Those were addicting. The positive thing is that the have a good selection of beer according to my boyfriend. Lots of beers on drafts. They also offered samples of their beers that are on draft. Service was good, but def not my type of bar.

They sincerely charge your card more than you intend. I got two beers and was charged $20.00 . The bartender called me a little bitch. Manager lies and its a trash bar. The waitresses have no sense of customer service. Can't say i'll be rushing back..

I came here for dinner after the zoo. The service was great. Solid Service and Happy Hour deals. I ordered the fish and chips. I tiny bit over cooked, but the pub fries were ever so yummy and the cole slaw was the perfect tasting slaw. Ordered a nice dinner salad too. It was very yummy and crisp, which is rare for a pub. Next time I go, I'm definitely going to take advantage of the half off wings at Happy Hour. They smelled amazing and the person who had them LOVED them.

  • Russ H.

A bar/pub place. I come here from time to time. I have usually had decent service. They have a good menu, and I very much like their burger. Drinks are nothing to write home about. Not bad, not great. The big pull for me here is that they have an off-menu item.. The spicy cheese balls that Mr. B's used to have years ago? They can be had HERE! They are not on the menu, so you have to ask for them. But over all, not a bad place for a burger, beer (and cheese balls)

Racism. My buddy and I went out for our friends 21st birthday. He went in with a white shirt on and is black. Wouldn't allow him him in because it's a gang sign. Duck this place.

O'Toole's is overrated. It is loud and the food was just ok. Our waitress had a bit of a bad attitude toward us. We all just wanted to have some brews and relax; but this place is not relaxing! We had nachos which were a notch better than Taco Bell. The cheese was like eating rubber. Yuck. I won't be going back to this place any time soon. Things they need to improve on is better attitude toward your guest and buy some Kraft cheese~!

Three years ago, the worst service I have ever received in my life came at O'Toole's. And today, the second-worst service I have ever received came at O'Toole's. I come here to watch games, the bar is owned by a Spartan and therefore will play the sound for our games over any other game, including Michigan, which is important on days like today when both are playing in bowl games. They have a good number of HD TVs, although I wish there were some in the patio area as well. Today we had a waitress who said we were her only table on this side of the bar (why was she assigned to us then?). We ordered a cheese pizza, and 40 minutes later a pepperoni pizza was placed in front of us without explanation. I said we had ordered cheese, and she said "Well I can take it back if you want, the computer back there is messed up so I guess it came out wrong." I said I was a vegetarian so yes, we want the right pizza. A half hour later the cheese pizza arrived, without plates or napkins. Every drink request was made twice at the table, with a couple third requests being made by someone from our table getting up to find the waitress. Thankfully MSU was getting whooped so bad I was able to just throw some money down and walk out at the half, leaving my friends to beg for the bill. The TV set-up is the second-best for sports in RO, but the food and service are so consistently terrible that I now have no other choice but to go Blackfinn for games. Yes, it's that bad.

  • Michelle C.

Sports bars have a reasonable amount of factors that could redeem them and O' Toole's falls pretty flat with all of them. If you want cheap beer, you're better off at a frat party, and possibly in better company. Both servers and patrons are, by and large, incredibly unpleasant. I can't speak for the food, but I'm fairly sure that it's nothing that you can't find at any of the other bars in walking distance. In all, overpriced, overrated, hyped-up and a general disappointment.

    (1)
  • Taylor B.

Food is decent here. Beer, if you're not drinking one of the $20 3 liter towers, is a bit pricey. Strange thing about it is a pint of bud light is going to run you as much as a pint of guiness. Wait staff is pretty decent the last time I was in. The shot girls can be a little bit annoying stopping by every couple minutes, especially when one comes right after the other. The music can be a little over bearing sometimes, especially as the night draws on. I think the volume of the music is directly related to the time of day. By midnight, it's too loud to have a normal converstaion. The patio is a nice open area to sit. It's a decent enough spot to stop in for a beer or burger.

    (3)
  • Jon L.

This bar is tiny but I've had a great time here on several occasions so I'm giving it 4 stars. I usually go on Thursdays for $2 mug night - not a bad deal if you bring in a 60 oz mug. However, I'm usually too lazy to stop at 7-11 and it sucks to carry that around so I usually just buy a 20 oz plastic mug when I get there for $5. Service is usually pretty fast, good enough so I don't have to go to the bar at all and the drinks keep flowing. Obviously if you're a cheapass and don't tip well, the service is going to suck and you'll wait forever at the bar trying to get a beer. Food is also pretty good - I liked the nachos supreme. Another plus is the 12+ huge flat screens everywhere which makes it a great place to watch a game. To get a table I'd recommend getting there by 8, otherwise you'll most likely have to stand. This is the most popular bar in RO on Thrusdays and a good spot to watch a game.

    (3)
  • Amy H.

Guys, you'll never catch me in here during a weeknight or weekend. Ever. I don't like the atmosphere, the service is just OK, and the crowd is not my type. You WILL catch me in here taking advantage of the burger special they have. I can't remember for the life of me if it's everyday, or just certain days between a certain time?? They don't advertise it on their site. I will have to check sometime this week and update this review with more info. Anyway, you get a real good burger with fries for around $4.

    (3)
  • Joe B.

I've been to O'Tooles more than I care to remember. It's a decent spot to watch the game on the big screen and they've got a couple skeevy lounge chairs and a skeevy couch set up near the front door that I'd bet were originally liberated from a frat house as a joke at one point or another. The waitresses are always dressed a little provocatively (read slutty) to the point that last time I was there I saw one of them wearing really stylish torn thigh highs and possibly sprouting a nipple - nothing but class here. But the beer does flow and if you're a skeevy guy with deep pockets and a propensity for girly shots, apparently they'll name one after you to make you feel special - NO I'm not joking. If you need a place to take the boys to pregame before a knock down drag out bachelor party this may be your first stop. They've got a gigantic Golden Tee and also a Corn Hole/Jarts video game setup which is kind of cool and a pool table or two if I recall correctly. I can't attest to much of the food but last time I was there I had their burger and it was pretty solid. To be fair, this is my least favorite bar in Royal Oak but weekend nights can get kind of crazy as it's usually packed after 10 on a Friday or Saturday night. I'd equate it to a little piece of Pontiac in Royal Oak. Never mind that you may need a tetanus shot after you vacate the premises with enough Jager you will cease to care.

    (2)
  • Jeff J.

I happen to like this bar. It's clean, usually has something to drink on special, and has really good wings. Wednesday is half-off boneless wing night, and Thursday is mug night where you see all the hipsters lined up with their 7-Eleven Double Big Gulp mugs looking for cheap beer. Some review I read seem to paint this place as the most foul leaking anus in Royal Oak. It is exactly what it should be: a sports bar. Anyone expecting molecular gastronomy and a vintage wine pairing served by top hat wearing penguins who ride unicorns will be sorely disappointed.

    (4)
  • Raimi B.

The new bar is very impressive. Since the remodel, it seems much more open and there is a much better beer selection. We came to watch the Red Wings game and the tv selection was fantastic. Great place to watch a game on a Sunday afternoon.

    (4)
  • Lexie D.

The bartendresses don't wear pants, but the male managers do. The bar is populated by: --douchey men --chicks who don't know better --shot girls I don't even know if the beer was cheap. Someone else paid for me. Tap seemed pretty legit, so +1 for that. Free popcorn didn't hurt.

    (2)
  • Randall F.

School girl outfits are gone; servers now wear hot/slutty outfits of their own choosing. How much they show and how good it looks varies widely. Prices and menu reflect that this bar's dive bar heritage is mostly gone, replaced by a corporate vibe. The food is pretty good; the cook is one of the few people here who seems to give a s#it about his job. The "hot" servers and bartenders don't seem to understand (or don't care) that all the dirty old men in the place (myself included) are there to check them out. So your server or bartender will take your order then disappear outside to smoke or sit down at the end of the bar to text or go downstairs to . . . whatever. The point is, she's not there to leer at and that's a problem.

    (2)
  • Cameron B.

Nothing to really see here, a generic bar at best. Got a little packed when we were there, but, we got there late, so it's our own fault. Normal prices per drink for a bar, and like I said, generic. On to the next one.

    (3)
  • Tim A.

A lot of the comments for this bar are old and out of date. The place has been redone and doesn't have the dive bar atmosphere anymore. We come here every Monday night for trivia and have a great time. The manager stops by to chat and is always polite and happy to see us. They have a good bar menu and great draft beer selection. Plus, the 3 Liter beer tower for $20 is a great deal. We haven't had any of the delays with the servers like other people here have mentioned here. I haven't been here on other nights so I can't speak for the service on the typical "bar" nights, but on Monday night, O'Toole's is a great place to come play some trivia and then stay to watch the game.

  • Henry B.

Pretty good place to watch a football game. They have a lot of TVs and they don't drown out the game when it's showing with music. I like that they allow cigar smoking here. That's a rarity. I don't like they have a bathroom attendant. Paying a dollar to have someone hand me soap and a towel in a place where you don't wear a suit is unnecessary. The food here is the average bar food: Fried and therefore delicious. The shot girls come around too often. They need to tone down on that.

I don't even know where to begin with this mess of a place. First the atmosphere reminds me of a dive strip club. Waitresses clad in school girl outfits w/ midriff baring tops circa 1994. Here's the thing though, they're not hot. They're rather trashy looking actually..a little "methy". The bar is dark and has some games, but I didn't see a dart board. We were there on a Wednesday to see a friend's band play. Unfortuantely the owner insists they keep the noise level and bass to a minimum...ummm okay? The only star is because they have a mix 'n match special of 6 bottles for $12. Now this is a good deal, except our lovely bartender was incapable of getting this correct. Instead of bringing 3 MGD's and 3 Miller Lites we got all Miller Lites...adn the bottles come open, I'm not a fan of that. I don't like my beer sitting open and exposed to the nastiness flying in the air. Overall this place blows and you're better off going elsewhere.

The only time I go here is on Thursday nights. Its "Mug Night" which means that you can bring in a vessel of virtually unlimited size and get it filled with either Labatt or Labatt Light for $1.99 per pour. Its decently classy , and has nice waitstaff. They have good food, too. All I've had so far is the langoustine mac and cheese, which came recommended from a friend. It was good, but not the best I've had - probably my third favorite mac and cheese (after Slow's and Cliff Bell's). The crowd is decent if you get there at 7, but we usually leave a couple hours later, because it starts to turn over if you stay too late.

I have frequented O'Tooles quite a bit over the last few years living in Royal Oak. Overall, it's a good place to watch a game or have a night out with some friends. There are a bunch of flat panel TVs everywhere so anywhere you sit, you won't miss the action. We came here a lot during MSU's March Madness run. Drink prices are what you'd expect in Royal Oak. Slightly above average than most other cities, but nothing that'll break the bank. Lately, I've been ordering the tower (3L) of blue light, which is $20. Basically equates to $2.5/pint of beer if you want to do the math. definitely the way to go if you have a few people around the table. If you are feeling patriotic, you can get 3L of PBR for $15. EVEN BETTER DEAL!! Service is always 50/50. It seems like they have more servers now, which is a big plus. Last night the service was excellent, but other times, it has lacked. My one major qualm - the shot girls. good god, please stop this or only have 1. very few people buy these. it's pretty apparent since 2-3 girls walk around with a full tray of them and come by every 10 minutes.

I first experienced O' Toole's bar-hopping with a few friends and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. The crowd was lively and the service was good. The drinks were averagely priced. There was even a shot girl who sat at our table and kept us company, I'd recommend it and definitely stop in there for a drink again.

Eeeek !! Walk past..please ?! I've given O' Toole's a chance one too many times. Almost every season of the year for the past 2 years I have given this place a chance to prove me wrong...unfortunately..it fails yet again !! This place is just another bar, nothing special or unique about it. The service at the bar is really bad. I had to wait almost 15 mins just to get the bartenders attention (and it wasn't a busy night) so if you do go here I would suggest ordering drinks through your waitress (just realized they had that ). The only thing I liked about this place is that in the summer they have an area of the bar thats open and you can sit with a group of friends, have a drink and chill.

I went to O'Tooles yesterday to watch the US vs. England World Cup match with some friends and I had a pretty good time. The bar has a ton of hi-def tvs for one's viewing pleasure and they were all tuned to the game. We ordered this giant container of beer with a spout for $15, that me and my two companions got about 2.5 pints each. It was a great deal! I was really surprised that pretty much everyone at the bar came for the game. We cheered on our team to an admirable tie against a tough rival. I can't comment on the food since we only drank while watching the game, but the food looked good. Your basic bar food. As far as service, I would give it 1.5 stars. The first half of the soccer match was nearly over before a waitress came to take our order. And then throughout the game she constantly pestered us about ordering something else. Normally, I like an attentive server, but it was clear she wanted us to order more after the 5th or so time she asked us so. All in all, I had a great time watching the game and catching up with some friends. I agree with Henry B. that's its a good place to watch a game. If they plan on showing more US World Cup matches I'll likely be back.
